K-POP's introduction

K-POP is the concept called "Korean pop" and "large South Korean POPS" at the end of the 1980s, and is South Korean (Korea) public music.

In order that media of Japan may use "K-POP" in the sense of "South Korean public music", this language has permeated in Japan.

In Japan, a word called J-POP began to be used for popular music around from 1988, around from the first half of the 1990s in which it was established, South Korean popular music is pointed out and a word called K-POP began to be used.

The U.S. music which makes jazz first in a roll went into Japan on a grand scale at the postwar period.







Free jazz will prosper around from the start of the 1970s.

After he graduated reform school, he joined Orchestra of Chicago.
2 years later, he joined Orchestra of New York, and he became famous.

Jazz is Western music and the music developed with the combination of African music.

Let New Orleans be the birthplace.





In 1917, the first jazz band which is a white band of the New Orleans native debute.
Early jazz is affected to a marching band and the dance music.

It was in fashion at the beginning of the 20th century, and can call the form of the combination by brass (brass instrument) lead (woodwind instrument) .





Solo performance of jazz was becaming famous by the 1930s.

1940s, many arenged jazz band became famous.
Many new style of jazz made, and the new style made moden jazz style.
The new styles are cool jazz, west coast jazz, hard bop, etc.

World Heritage in Guatemala  ~Quirigua~


Quirigua is an ancient Maya archaeological site in the department of lzabal in south-eastern Guatemala.
There is north of Copan in Honduras, ancient Mayan ruins in the jungle area on the river Motagua.
Quirigua Archaeological Park is a culture heritage of Guatemala has been a World Heritage Site in 1981.
Quirigua is known to be Maya city of Copan flourished as a satelite city around the year 200.

The moment was built in the late 8th century a dozen, which is carved royal portraits and characters, such as God or Maya.
Many buidings have not kept intact, the monument has been engraved numerous portraits and various Maya text. It makes valuable to study the history of the Maya civilization.

In addition, Puerto Barrios exists in the Caribbean Sea side as a port town.

I would like to introduce to you Tikal National Park.


Tikal National Park is a city which remained in Peten low land in Guatemala from ancient Maya.
It was registered to world heritege as a compound heritage in 1979,
and prospered as political-economical center city of Maya civilization.

This is a pyramid-shaped heritage which is famous for Maya civilization in Tikal National Park.
It is the biggest and the oldest city heritage of Maya civilization.
It is also used in the movie "STAR WARS" and used as a model of the buiding in Disney Sea.

This heritage was built in about A.D.200-400.
It is built in Talud Tablero style.
Talud means an inclined wall.
Tablero means a vertical wall.

It is world- famous heritage, so many people in the world want to visit there.
I think that it is worth visiting there at least once.
If I have a chance to visit Guatemala, I am willing to go there.
The wolrd is thrown into confusion this year for Maya civilization,
I think that people should know more Guatemala.

World Heritage of Guatemala "Antigua Guatemala"

This is the cultural heritage which calls Antigua Guatemala.  This is the city in Sacatepéquez Department, Guatemala.  This city name often is called just “Antigua” or “La Antigua”.  It locates altitude of Guatemala, and be known with baroque architecture which is influenced by Spanish and many church built while colonial times.

“La Antigua Guatemala” means “old Guatemala”, and Guatemala was the third capital city of Guatemala.  The First capital was Kakchikel-Maya city; it founded in July 25^th, 1524.  This city was named as Ciudad de Santiago de los Caballeros de Goathemalan since July 25^th was the day of Saint James, and Saint James became the patron saint. 

After several times of insurgence in Kakchikel-Maya city, the capital city was moved in Alotenango in November 22th, 1527.  On September 11^th, 1541, this city was destroyed by the volcanic mud flow eructated from the Agua volcano, and the government moved the capital to Panchoy.  Spanish Conquistador founded Antigua as of now, and named as Santiago de los Caballeros de Goathemalan again.  Spanish colony government was stayed in Antigua more than 200 years.  After the big earthquake which happened in September 29^th, 1717, the capital was moved to the place which as of now capital places.  The old capital name wasn’t used for new capital, it named as Nueva Guatemala de la Asunción.  This name means “New Guatemala of the Assumption”.

In 1979, UNESCO added Antigua Guatemala as World heritage.  Today, there are buildings remain as cultural heritage in Antigua Guatemala.
